Academic Visit of UPM Veterinary Students to I-AQUAS
PORT DICKSON, 3 December 2025 – Year Five Doctor of Veterinary Medicine students from UPM participated in an academic visit to I-AQUAS in Port Dickson as part of the Clinical Practice and Veterinary Diagnosis course. The visit aimed to give students hands-on exposure to modern aquaculture operations and practical applications in aquatic animal health and diagnosis.
A total of nine students were accompanied by four supervising officers who ensured compliance with safety procedures and best practices. The programme ran from 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon and included visits to aquaculture systems, water quality laboratories, and fish farming areas, with emphasis on biosecurity, water quality management, and fish health.
The visit allowed students to apply classroom theory in real-world settings, enhancing their understanding, clinical skills, and preparedness for future professional challenges in aquatic animal health and the aquaculture industry.
